Adaptra’s Charity events – round up for 2013 (October)
Our charity fund raising is nearly complete for the year. Adaptra was a keen supporter of the following charities in 2013:
The NELUNE Foundation is a not-for-profit charitable organisation that supports children, adolescents, adults and their families and carers to cope with the impact of cancer by funding essential cancer patient services and cancer care treatments. The Nelune Foundation is celebrating its 10 year anniversary this year. In recent years the Foundation has commenced funding the establishment of world-class cancer care treatment centres ensuring that patients have access to best possible outcomes, regardless of personal or financial circumstances.
Racing for Life:
‘Racing for Life’ is run by parents of children who have been treated for cancer or blood disorders at Sydney Children’s Hospital(SCH) Randwick.
The name 'Racing for life' reflects the type of fundraising events that the committee organises as well as the urgency to save children’s lives that is the day to day scenario at the Centre for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Sydney Children's Hospital.
National Breast Cancer Foundation:
The National Breast Cancer Foundation is the leading community-funded organisation in Australia raising money for research into the prevention and cure of breast cancer.
Adaptra is hosting a Pink Ribbon Afternoon Tea on 31 October as part of the Foundation’s Pink Ribbon campaign. Adaptra staff are getting behind the cause with many donating online before the event. Adaptra have several keen bakers who are making cakes and slices for the event; a guilt free, calorie laden, successful afternoon for all.

The topic for this CIO Roundtable was "Mobility" - recently rated as one of the top 2 priorities for Australian CIOs!
Some key discussion points included:
Everyone agreed that mobility was having a major influence and as such it was important to be experimenting with it to help influence how the business could take advantage of it. For a copy of the full presentation please
- Is mobility a "disruptive technology"?
- Will early adopters get an advantage over followers or can laggards leap-frog and jump ahead of the early movers by leveraging their experience?
- What are the key technology decisions that need to be taken now to position for future success?
